Interested in color?
In the world of color theory, there are the basics. Like red is hot and can represent anger or danger. Or purple is regal and can connote royalty. But have you ever wondered what colors others associate with specific words?
Understanding what colors are associated with certain words and emotions is an important part of effective visual communication. So, we are fascinated with the new site Cymbolism. Their goal is to quantify associations with words and colors. They do this by presenting random words to the user who in turn picks a color from the palette provided that most reminds them of the specific word. (Warning, this is vaguely addictive.) You can compare your vote to what others have picked, and you can even suggest new words.
All in all an interesting new site that is worth checking out – especially if you are working on choosing colors for a new project.
